How can I verify that 46430-28391 is a genuine Toyota part?
To verify this Parking Brake Cable (Rear Left), look for the ten-character number 46430-28391 on the box label together with the country-of-origin marking, then check that the part number is die-stamped or laser-etched into the metal itself rather than printed in ink, and it matches the box label, and that the metal carries the supplier’s mark cast or stamped next to Toyota’s own mark, not a separate printed sticker. Yes. Fit them as an axle set (both sides at once), bed them in over the first 200 km of light braking, and torque the caliper bolts to the service-manual value – do not reuse the caliper bolts.
Is the genuine part worth it compared with an aftermarket equivalent?
The genuine part earns its price in details that matter over time: the part is machined to OE tolerance, so it mounts and seats without shimming or rework; and the OE heat treatment and surface finish help the part resist wear, corrosion and seizing.
