Is the genuine part worth it compared with an aftermarket equivalent?
What the genuine item buys you is concrete: the part is machined to OE tolerance, so it mounts and seats without shimming or rework; and the OE heat treatment and surface finish help the part resist wear, corrosion and seizing. These are the aftermarket equivalents you may also see quoted.
